Progression of Atherosclerosis Changes of Absorbance Measurement in Several Rabbit Tissues

Introduction

Fe may participate in different pathological processes, stimulating the formation of free oxygen radicals. It was assumed that iron mediated oxidation is involved in this process. Several epidemiological studies have shown that the level of authority, Fe stores positively correlates with the incidence of cardiovascular diseases in humans. Next additional experiments on animals show that gravity can noticeably affect atherosclerosis Fe overload or disadvantage (Tau, 2000; brightness and Roebuck, 2001; Lynch and Frey, 1993; Jenner et al., 2007; Berger et al., 2004; Reiterer et al., 2004).

Zn additives has elevated cholesterol oxidation products in aorta and plasma by high cholesterol diet is. Some studies have shown that Zn reduces oxidative damage and risk of cardiovascular disease (Jenner et al., 2007; Berger et al., 2004; REN et al., 2005). Scientists believe that as Zn supplements lowers shaping atheromas and reduces lipid peroxidation, it may have antioxidant activity (Watts et al., 2006; REN et al., 2005; Beattie and Gong, 2004).

As Zn not redox active, he cannot act as an antioxidant treatment directly, but instead, it can act as an antioxidant indirectly compete with pro-oxidant metals such as Fe for strategic anchor sites (Sullivan, 1981; Rice Evans and Bourdon, 1993; Lee et al., 2003). The role of High fat diet (HFD) iron and zinc in heart and aortic tissues of pigs in General has not been investigated. Thus the goal of this study was to assess the effects of iron and zinc in the HFD in heart and aortic tissue in rabbits using atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS).

METHODS

Animal Treatment

Atherosclerotic model used in this study was a New Zealand White Rabbit (men old 12 weeks) (2.45 kg 0.25) obtained from animal laboratories (College, King Saud University). Twenty rabbits individually caged and divided by the monitoring group and the Group HFD. Control group (n = 8) fed 100 g per day NOR diet (Purina certified stuffed Bunny # CHOW 5321; study diet Inc., New Jersey, United States) for 12 weeks. The HFD (n = 12) fed on certified rabbit NOR Purina CHOW # 5321 complemented by cholesterol 1.0% plus 1.0% olive oil (100 g/day) over the same period.

The animals were sacrificed after 12 weeks of injecting in accordance with guidelines approved by the Committee care King Saud University, University of local animals and application (Abdelhalim, 2010) from Hypnorm (0.3 mL/kg). To get the protoplasm representative in vivo situation and avoid the autolysis of changes and the growth of bacteria, aortas and hearts were carefully removed in such a way as to avoid any damage Abdelhalim 1671 fabrics. Each segment was promptly flushed with deionized water to remove any traces of blood.
