Introduction

An organization is a congregation of people working mutually to achieve similar goals and targets through a division of labor. They are systematically structured to pursue shared goals on an incessant basis. Organizational behavior is a term which refers to the stance along with attitudes of individuals and groups in an organization that effect an organization's mode of management, function and reflects its overall culture. Organizational culture is based on shared attitudes, values and behaviors that contribute to the unique environment of an organization. Conventional theories based on organizational culture reviewed organizations as closed systems that were independent and secluded from the outer world. However, later on, more humanistic and complete ideologies came up. The traditional theory remained unsuccessful in taking into consideration several environmental factors that impacted the competence of organizations. Hence, the open system theory was embraced by many organizations.

In Organizational Behavior's literature, there is an extensive agreement that unique, indefinable assets such as an organization's ability to support creativity with leadership are the key drivers of competitive advantage. An organization needs creative employees who have the ability to offer inventive products and are motivated to unfold their creative potential. They can serve not only as a source of innovation but also as a source of an organization's competitive advantage. Therefore, organizations must place a premium on employee creativity for the organization's bright future.

The Effect of Change on Organizational Culture

Organizational structure and management techniques have transformed over time in reaction to societal changes. Organizations emerge when needs are revealed or new technologies come into existence. Organizations also end up or are transformed when the needs fulfilled by them no longer subsist or have been substituted by other requirements. Scholars have presented numerous models to differentiate organizations to view them more logically. These models can be generally classified as closed systems or open systems. The closed system models highlight the internal events while open system models highlight the external events that influence changes within the organization.

Workers are members of an organization and also the society, both of which play significant roles in determining employee actions and behaviors (Burke, 2010). As the workforce moves back and forth between the organization and their social groups, they bring external influences into the organization in the shape of values and attitudes, which influence the internal performance of an organization.
