ABSTRACT

In this research study, the researcher tries to explore the relationship between job satisfaction and employees' turnover rate. The main focus of the research is on employees' turnover rate and employees' jobs satisfaction of star bucks. The research describes the factors which have an impact on the employees' job satisfaction and less employee turnover rate. In this research the questionnaire and interview techniques were used and findings proved that there is a strong relationship between employees' job satisfaction and their turnover rate and star bucks' employees are more satisfied with their job and their turnover rate is low.

Understanding Job Satisfaction

Job satisfaction can also be described as the result of many factors that affect the quality of an individual's working life Job satisfaction is of interest to employers and continues to be studied since it is considered to be a desirable outcome of employment. Job satisfaction has been linked positively to productivity and negatively to absenteeism. Ever since the Hawthorne Studies, employers have wanted to find out what motivates their workers to do their best (Katzell, 1975, 80). Even if businesses were interested in job satisfaction as a way of increasing profit, understanding the how and why of job satisfaction had to be addressed. In the end, all parties were affected from the bottom to the top.

Defining job satisfaction was difficult because it carried different meanings for people. Understand an individual's personal fit in an organization, experience a happy work environment, and enjoy flexibility with family and work balance, and having influential leadership were all factors for job satisfaction. For others, monetary influence, special benefits, and attaining a high corporate position attributed to job satisfaction or something as simple as more meaningful work created job satisfaction. The key was to find what made a person happy, satisfied, and wanting to remain. Srivastva (1977, 90) found many people left their positions not because of lack of job satisfaction, involvement, or organizational commitment, but because of job embeddedness. The term job embeddedness referred to how an employee felt how he or she fit in the organization.
