There are slight changes related to return to school role of LPN to RN. first thing I focus my time on my school work when it comes to studying, reading or just do not work 80 hours the week to allow brain to retain in my long term memory. Currently working on two different fields of nursing. One of them is mental health that I find personally rewarding because of hands on care that I've learned to realize who I am and why I am who I am. Other is long-term care nursing has given me respect for elderly and those who cannot care for themselves. Despite differences in their license and employer, LPN and RN said that direct patient care is their primary responsibility. While LPN and RN licenses specify different practice areas, and LPNs are predominant in field of long-term care nurses frequently in acute care facilities, focus group respondents cited similar general functions in their current positions. In particular, direct patient care is responsibility most often mentioned with most of participants and RN LPN claim this right. In decreasing order of importance, both groups also noted responsibility: patient education, supervision of other nurses, other education staff, and supervision of nurses do not.

When LPNs and nurses work side by side in the facility or department, actual rights of patient care made by each are different, with LPNs serve the more practical, technical skills and nurses more likely to monitor and carry out specific highly skilled tasks. However, when RN much more numerous than LPN in the particular context, its functions can be quite similar, except for activities of LPN is not licensed to perform. When LPNs much more numerous than nurses on stage, usually in long-term care, LPNs report to the nurse, but may take broader responsibilities.

Relations between LPN and RN in focus groups and members of other nurses they work with are generally positive. RN LPNs expressed that they interact with are, for most part, support and respect, while RN stated that appreciate contributions of LPN and depend on them to do job. In area of acute care, some LPNs resent their lower wages and lower perception of state; although not all hospital LPNs felt this way. Friction few specific cases mentioned by focus group respondents believed they were isolated cases of personality clashes or occasional individual frustrated or overworked.
