Technology and the rule of thumb that is texting messaging are slowly killing romance accurate.

The paper focuses on the “Rule of Thumbs: Love in the Age of Texting” by Natalie Y. Moore Sunday, September 16, 2007. Moore is one of the great writers, in her above mentioned piece of work she mentions of never wanted talks. Moore says in her essay, “I also believe that texting plays a bigger role than it should in the lives of many people. I am the perfect example of this because, sometimes my friends and I rather text than talk on the phone or meet up, my boyfriend is obsessed with texting, and I feel like I should ease down on the texting because is taking too much of my time” (Moore, p. 1 ).

In the light her work it can be proved that technology killing romance and it is question of high importance these days. In the response of this question some say that the modern means of communication are taking the romance out of relationships. Perhaps those who take this position are looking at form rather than substance. For example, romance books still proliferate. Whether you talk about the mundane boy meets girl romance novel, the historical romance novel, or even the paranormal romance novel, the romance novels are still represent one of the most popular genres in print. And the online romance novel, the eBook, is one of the fastest growing segments because it is usually free (Heidegger, 265-281). Of course, it is true that people today would rather text or e-mail I Love You rather than send a letter or love note. But when you think about it, which sends letters at all today? Letters are an anachronism in the modern era (Heidegger, 265-281).

“Romance has many different nuances, meanings and connotations” (Heinzelin, 625-629). Romance novels and romance books, whether they are read online or in manuscript form, are often read to enjoy the splendor of true love. This feeling includes some degree of sexual attraction and a longing for the companionship of the person who is your love object.
