CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION

1.1 Background of the topic

The occurrence of child labour is universal, and it has certainly received the attention of several scholars representing different fields, like in western societies, as people are becoming more conscious of the challenges and hard realities that most of the children face at different point of time. The emergence of new scholarly inquiries within the academy highlights a growing interest and public concern to make a well being for the children. The study argued that the occurrence of child labour cannot be seen as isolated from education and poverty, and requires a two-pronged approach for addressing the child labour problem.

The main objective of this study is to focus on the effect of child labour among the female children in Kaduna Zaria Nigeria. It is a global problem and there is a need to develop a comprehensive strategy to combat the issues related to this phenomenon. It is the responsibility of many regional and global organizations that looks after the welfare of the people. The Government is not making any serious effort to resolve this problem and it now depends on the NGOs working in different countries to look after this major issue. It is a collective responsibility for everyone living in different parts of the world to solve the issues related to Child Labour. Therefore, all these problems will be discussed in the topic.

The main objective of this study is to assess the effect of Child Labour among the female children in Kaduna Zaria Nigeria.

Q3- What are the different strategies required in meeting the issues related to Child Labour in Nigeria?

1.4 Significance of the study

The significance of the study is quite high because of the importance of issue related to Child Labour among the female children in Kaduna Zaria Nigeria. There is several research studies which have been conducted on the topic related to the effect of Child Labour in various countries. The research studies assisted in generating reasonable findings for the future because of the establishment of various facts. In this study as well, the detailed research would be carried out on the issue of Child Labour in Nigeria. Therefore, this is the overall effect of the study.
