As per the mentioned care plan, it is feasible to emphasize on the different functions of skin as they play an important role in the burn wound. They are mainly, Metabolism, Immunological, Social - interactive, Protection, Fluid, protein and electrolyte homeostasis, Neurosensory, and Thermoregulation. As per this care plan, a burn injury results in the loss and disruption of these functions. It is necessary for the burn nurses that they should make assessment of these mentioned factors while making decisions about the care plan.
