The empowerment of women and the increase in their participation in the managerial roles has been one of the most significant revolutions of the past decades. This revolution can be termed as remarkable, as it has drastically changed the social roles of women. In the previous decades women's primary role was to primarily look after the household, or work at very low organizational positions. The workplace empowerment that women have now achieved has caused them to not only occupy the senior managerial positions in major global organizations, but they have also now become independent individuals. In the modern corporate environment the role of the gender as an influencing factor on the job requirements has now become minimal. The success of this revolution has caused the business fraternity to become significantly more effective, as the selection of the talent is not based on gender bias. Hence the increase in the role of women in the organizational sector is not only a revolution of the corporate world, this monumental change also consists of numerous social implications. The increase in the participation of the women in the managerial capacity of organizations; has mean that the powerful men, who were controlling the business activities before, now have to share their authority.

This situation can cause the male dominated organizations to resent the change and the influence of women. The female managers might face several challenges in the form of discrimination, sexual harassment or prejudice in the workplace environment. To alleviate this issue the company's HR department must play a vital role. The values of gender equality and the legal implications of workplace discrimination should be adequately transmitted throughout the organization, hence providing a balanced platform for all employees.
