ABSTRACT

Abstract

A substantial work presented in this exhibition is the mixed media piece Painting with myself, which explores scale in relation to the perceived limitations of disability. This large-scale painting is exhibited alongside the support tools that I used to create the piece, including a specially adapted drawing tool, prosthesis, stump sock, crutches and wheelchair. The video triptych that accompanies the work on show, charts the process of making the piece, and supporting drawings and sketchbooks show the development of my artistic practice.
