Introduction

The movie Arlington road is related to the much debatable and controversial topic, terrorism. This movie can also be connected to the concept of sociology. Although, the plot of the movie is not very impressive, it still gives the audience an issue to ponder over. The aspect of sociology is very evident in the movie. It studies the society and the people living in the society. This is the reason that this movie can be related to the concept of sociology. Each and every part of the movie is related to the concept of society and sociology and will be discussed in this paper.

Discussion

The topic of the movie is terrorism and is easily related to the concept of sociology. There is not even one society that is safe from the hands of the terrorists. Every society whether European or Asian, has experienced terrorist activities. The starting of the movie shows how the hero of the movie, Jeff Bridges saves the life of a child. He rushes him to the hospital and later on finds out that he is the son of their newly moved in neighbors.

Jeff is a professor in a university who teaches the subject of terrorism. He has also lost his wife, who was a former FBI agent and was killed in an encounter with the terrorists. By teaching terrorism and by the experience of losing his wife in terrorist's encounter, Jeff's attitude has changed much. He now does not believe anyone easily and does not trust anyone. He has a nine year old son whom he has to look after and have to save him from the cruel world. This is where the concept of sociology comes in.

The relationships of Jeff have changed and so has the situation around him. He now does not have a partner and is alone. This aspect of his life is impacting him and his surroundings a lot. He also has to look after his son and this is the very reason that he is suspecting everything, even his neighbors. The more he meets his neighbors, the more he suspect of them. He thinks that something is wrong with them and they are involved in some illegal activities. He has been unable to manage to himself properly after the death of her wife.
