Many flourishing, large scale businesses perform an environmental analysis before setting up and develop ways and means to attain their objectives and fulfill their purpose of existence. They work through a properly made out blueprint and apply the most appropriate tactics to reach their goals successfully. This paper will also discuss one such organization in terms of its mission, vision, strategic goals and extraordinary financial performance.

The Hershey Company

The Hershey Foods Corporation was the founding name of the Hershey Company until April 2005. Nowadays, it is commonly known as Hershey's which is the largest manufacturer based in North America and headquartered in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Milton S. Hershey had founded the Hershey's in the year 1894 in the form of Hershey Chocolate Company, which was also a subsidiary of his Lancaster Caramel Company. There are more than 60 countries all over the world in which the products of Hershey's are sold (Hershey Co, 2011).

Hershey's is an American icon in the world of chocolate and is one of the oldest and leading groups of companies in the United States. Other companies in thief group formed by Milton Hershey include the Hershey Entertainment and Resorts Company running Hersheypark, Hershey Trust Company, an amusement park that is made on the theme of chocolate, the Giant Center, Hershey Bears minor professional hockey team and the Hersheypark Stadium (Hershey's, 2013). The factory employees most of the people from the surrounding towns, counties, and boroughs, which include Hummelstown, Lebanon County, and Harrisburg and South Hanover.

The Hershey Company manufactures a wide range of products including candy or chocolate based and gum. Some of the products of Hershey's, such as Hershey Bar and Hershey Kiss, started being produced more than 100 years back and now form a solid revenue generation business unit of the company. The chocolate-based products of Hershey's include Hershey's cholera bar, Hershey's Symphony, Hershey's extra dark, Almond Joy, Mounds, Hershey's drops, Hershey's miniatures, Kit Kat, Hershey's Kisses, Reese's Peanut butter cup, Whoppers, and York Peppermint Pattie including Cadbury Chocolates. The non-Chocolate candies include breath saver breath mint, bubble yum bubble gum, Payday candy bar, carefree sugarless gums and many other brands and variety (Hershey's, 2013).

Mission and Vision Statement

Hershey's believes in keeping its customers happy with sweetness. The mission statement of the Hershey's Company is:

"Bringing sweet moments of Hershey happiness to the world every day."

On the basis of this statement, Hershey's tend to promote and foster the benefits that the Hershey Chocolates can provide to the health of its consumers. The company assists the customers in changing their perspective about chocolates being unhealthy.
