Company's mission and vision statements against the performance of the organization

Strategic mission contains the goals the organization will follow to complete its mission statement whereas planning means to how the organization tries to get its desired goals. By considering these two simultaneously assures that the business will get the success to accomplish its strategic vision.

Dunkin' Donut's vision statement is:

“To be recognized as a company that responsibly serves our guests, franchises, employees, communities, business partners and the interests of our planet.” (Dunkin' Brands, 2012).

Dunkin' Donut's mission statement is:

“To be the dominant worldwide retailer of high quality doughnuts and compatible high quality bakery and fresh snack products and beverages.” (Dunkin' Brands, 2012).

Create a strategic vision

A vision statement is a statement containing the ability to motivate the employees towards the achievement of a specific goal. Jay Ebben in his Inc Magazine article named as “Developing Effective Vision and Mission Statements”, the strategic “vision should state what the founder ultimately envisions the business to be, in terms of growth, values, employees, contributions to society, and the like”.

Communication of the strategic vision

Employees belonging to the different grades should have the knowledge and understanding of the vision of the company. Greater the understanding and excitement in the employees about the mission and vision of the company harder he employees will try o achieve the desired goals set by the company's management.

Setting of goals

It is very important to set the specific goals to get the objective of the vision. The goals should be qualified and quantified enough to help in the process of tracking the progress as set by the management. As an example one can say that instead of making the goal at the top quality products, the percentage of the products with defects will be less than one percent of the total.

Assignment of responsibilities

The management must have to assign certain task and responsibilities to its team members who are working on different tasks at different level and nature of work to achieve their goals and desired outcomes for the organization instead of hoping that things will automatically go in the assumed way.

Setting milestones

To achieve the mission and vision statement deadlines are set to reach up to the goals. The big task is to be broken down in to the small portions to and completed individually as single milestone which seem to be realistic and achievable in specific time period.

Keep Check

In order to assure that the things are going fine and up to date as a strategic planner of an organization one must keep a check on the things as they were planned and linked in the way as part of the strategic vision.
