Discuss the role of a preceptor

The preceptor serves as a role model for the student in the clinical setting. The preceptor presents the student with clinical experiences to meet the objectives of the student contract. The tutor acts as an expert, consultant, teacher and student. Each student has the contract required the support of the tutor during the semester. Initially, the clinical preceptor to familiarize students with clinical practice and help provide appropriate guidance to the agency. During the third year of curriculum, students develop their knowledge of emerging conditions and increasing the ability to apply knowledge in the clinical setting. The curriculum is taught through case online modules, emergency medicine grand rounds, reading assignments and through one-on-one student-teacher experience in the care of patients the emergency room.
