Edgar Allen Poe

Introduction

Edgar Allan Poe was born January 19, 1809 in Boston, USA. His parents, actors wandering troupe, died when Edgar was only two years. Edgar's mother, Elizabeth Arnold Poe, was English, his father Edgar, David Poe, - an American of Irish descent. The boy accepted and adopted wealthy merchant John Allan of Virginia.

Childhood

Edgar's childhood passed in an atmosphere rich enough. Allan did not spare funds for his education, although sometimes their deeds were unsuccessful; they even threatened bankruptcy. The boy did not feel it wore "a prince", he had his horse, his dog, his groom. When Edgar was six years old, Allan went to England, where there gave the boy an expensive boarding school in London, where he studied for five years.
