Fairy Tales and Childhood

Introduction

There are many versions of Hansel and Gretel and Jack and the Beanstalk, but I will use the Grimm Brothers' 1812 version of Hansel and Gretel. Here, I will use one postmodern narrative technique in this tale. For instance, this story might be told from the point of view of the Giant, the Witch or a parent, but it will address from the point of view of a protagonist. Who is aware they are in a story, or meets a character from a different fairy tale. My e-readings on the postmodern fairy tale suggest other approaches. Following Perrault, I will also conclude my story with a short 'moral' relevant to children today.

Grimm's Version of Hansel and Gretel

In the version of the Brothers Grimm, 1812 - Hansel and Gretel lived with his mother and step father. Children hear the parents agree to let them into the woods to die, then leading the way with stones and return home. Shortly after the hunger strike the door again and decide to take them even further into the forest this time have no stones to mark the way crumbs used, these are eaten by the birds. Lost in the forest, children come to the house of candy that belonged to an evil witch, who deludes with kindness but in fact plans to eat them. Locks to fatten Hansel and forces Gretel to help, being short-sighted every day believing that touches a bone is Hansel's finger to see if they can get fat and eat it, as was thin after a while gets tired and decides to eat and asks Gretel to prepare the oven to see if it was getting hot, Gretel and the witch deceives the oven and Gretel comes to locks, releases his brother and collect jewels from the witch and escape, they return with her father stepmother dead and live happily ever after without further needs with the jewels.

'Fairy tales encode the assumptions about childhood of the culture in which they are retold'

Fairy tales are offered in all possible forms and media, be it comics, books, films or computer games, the supply is almost unlimited. Unfortunately, the original written form is getting more into the background, since many parents have neither the time nor interest to read to their children or to tell tales. In our fast paced world of the contact between parents and children will lose more and more important, as well as the importance of storybook ever go away. Unfortunately, by the mediation of self-help and problem solving is increasingly difficult in a fairy tale. The symbolism and the intrinsic values ??of the tale is lost, since they are media forms like the movie or the comic does not exist. In general, stories, truthfully reflecting the common relationships between the characters are attempting to formulate an ideal model of life, dreams, and psychological comfort people in distress. The main purpose of the fairy tales is that the people should not despair even in ...
