Introduction

Frankenstein is a novel by the British Author Marry Shalley. Also referred as The Modern Prometheus, it was an article that was about the eccentric scientist Victor Frankenstein. The story is about this scientist who has created something of an grotesque creator. The creature came into existence due to the fact that some unorthodox scientific experiment was being performed by the person. The novel was written by Sherry when she was around 21 years old. The first edition of the novel was published in 1818, and if one talks about the first edition, the name of the author was not present in the first edition. Her name appeared on the Second Edition of the novel, which was published in France in 1823.

Discussion

As far as the author of the novel is concerned, she has travelled some place in Geneva. The main idea about the novel came when she visited that place and some of the common themes that were discussed at that place are the topics of galvanism (Shelley, 2012). There were some other occult ideas as well that were discussed at that point of time. Her husband was also the part of some of her discussions. When one talks about the storyline, it all emerged from a dream where Mary, Percy, Lord Byron, and John Polidori all decided that competition must be held where one who told the best horror story must be rewarded in some manner. After she was contemplating about what is going to be the best horror story, she thought about scientist who created another entity.
