Introduction

Definition

Genocide means any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group such as: The physical disappearance, a quantitative reduction and accelerated its members, through war, disease, genocide.

The term "genocide", which did not exist before 1944, is a very specific term that refers to the massive crimes committed against groups. Human rights, as stated in the Constitution of the United States of America or in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, 1948 United Nations refer to the rights of individuals.

Holocaust Genocide

After Second World War, the international community recognized the atrocities committed by the Nazis against the Jews of Europe; This act is considered as holocaust genocide. It was necessary to ensure an international guarantee the right of existence of communities or national, ethnic, racial and religious. Consequently, within the United Nations drafted the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide (hereinafter the Convention). Adopted by Resolution 260 (III) of 9 December 1948 General Assembly of the United Nations, the Convention entered into force on January 12, 1951. As stated by the International Court of Justice, the provisions of the Convention reflect opinions elementary consciousness of humanity that have binding force of law regardless of their formal ratification.

Rwanda Genocide

Rwanda Genocide was a result of civil war moderate Hutus and Tutsis were the victims of this genocide. This was the mass destruction took place during twentieth century, in 1994 Rwanda genocide resulted in the Massacre killing of 800,000 moderate Hutus and Tutsis

Is this kind of devastation a typical phenomenon resulting from twentieth-century genocidal ideology, the 1994 genocide in Rwanda resulted in the systematic massacre of 800,000 Tutsis in less than 100 days. During this genocide many of the international community closed their eyes. Rwanda genocide was a result of conscious choice for promoting hatred fear to keep elite in power. The action was taken by setting the majority against the minority in order to overcome the political opposition in Rwanda.

Cambodia Genocide

The genocide in Cambodia took place due to the initiative of Khmer Rouge party leader, his idea was to centralize and nationalize the farming society of Cambodia, by replacing it with Chinese Communist agricultural model. This initiative resulted in the destruction of more than twenty five percent of population within the short time of three years.

Leader of Cambodia wanted to achieve the ideal model; Khmer Rouge party believed that people of Cambodia must work as a laborer by making a single huge federation of collective farms.

Armenian Genocide

During April 1915 Ottoman government tried systematic decimation of their Armenian civilian population. Massacre against many Armenian people during World War I, this Massacre is represented as Armenian population. In Armenian genocide around one and a half million people killed between 1915 and 1923. Whereas many others Armenian died due to exhaustion, starvation, and epidemics destroyed many concentration camps.
