Introduction

This paper intends to analyze the messages of the prophet Isaiah and prophet Jeremiah. The messages of prophet Isaiah and prophet Jeremiah will be analyzed in a manner that will make the reader aware about the important aspects of the religion. The passages from the books of prophet Isaiah and prophet Jeremiah along with the text of Merrill will be utilized to conduct the research for this paper. The basic thing that will be analyzed in the paper is the relevance of the messages of prophet Isaiah and prophet Jeremiah to the Christians of modern times. Moreover, the views of prophet Isaiah and prophet Jeremiah in relation with the sins of the nations of Judah and Israel will also be highlighted. Moving on, the actions of God against these sins will also be explored in relation with the messages of prophet Isaiah and prophet Jeremiah. Lastly, the future plans of God for these nations from the perspective of the prophets will be analyzed.

Discussion

The messages spread by the prophets are essentially assumed that they are not time bound. Prophets possess the ability to judge the situations and provide underlying solutions and predictions that remain relevant for an interim period of time. Similarly, the messages of prophet Isaiah and prophet Jeremiah seems relevant to the modern Christians in the sense that even today, the world is going through the same difficulties it had to witness in the times of those prophets. For instance, the increased inhumanity, increased terrorism, increased intolerance and continuous poverty remain the basic issues of time as they were in the times of prophets Isaiah and Jeremiah. The sins of Judah and Israel tend to provide immense lesson the super powers and the so called rulers of today's time (Hans & Kratz, 2009).

The Sins of the Nations of Judah and Israel

The sins of Judah and Israel were the most prominent in the ancient times. The sins were basically associated with the violations of the original covenants made by the God. The practices of pagan nations were adopted by Israel. For instance, the sacrifice of child remains one of the most important and disgusting sins within the land of Israel. The mal practice of ritual fornication was also copied within Israel which is the inappropriate mixing of sexual activities with the religious worship. The sins within the nation of Israel were rising which became the reason of ultimate downfall of the nation (Oswalt, 1986).

Similarly, the nation of Judah also followed the footsteps of Israel and got involved in sins which were essentially prohibited by God. The nations were involved in activities which were against the guiding of God. The nation of Judah also failed to take a lesson from the punishment given to the nation of Israel by God. The nation of Judah even after witnessing the downfall of Israel got involved in the rebellion and idolatry.
