Introduction

Italy is one of the most advanced country in the world and the ninth largest economy in the world. Looking at the geographic of the country, the country covers the area of 301,338 kilometer square. The country is playing an active role in the European Union, and that is why is of key importance for the European region as well as the world. The capital of the country is Rome which famous for its Roman Empire history. Country's tourism invests a major portion in the economy of the country. Italy is bordered with France, Switzerland, Austria and two Mediterranean Islands. Italy has been considered as the religious and political hub for the western civilization.

Because of the modernization, the industrialization has caused many of the environmental issues for the country. But after a long time, the country has now been ranked on the 84th in the worldwide ranking for the most ecological sustainability. Talking about the climate of the Italy, it is highly diverse which ranges from the humid subtropical and to the continental.

Democratic Republic

Italy is an independent state and the government is based on the parliamentary system. The parliamentary government is elected through the system of voting. There are two houses of the namely the Chamber of deputies and the other one is named as the Senate of the Republic. Both of them are having the same powers. The head of the government structure is the called the President which is the official Head and have the authority. The Prime minister of the republic is selected by the president himself and the cabinet is also appointed by the president of the country. For this reason, a vote must get passed for the confidence within the parliament.

As the country is democratic republic, there are many political parties involved in the politics of the country and play a very vital role in the making of the government. In the democratic system of the country, the prime minister does not have all the powers. He is not authorized for to request the dissolution of the parliament as he must get the number of voters to support him (Ventresca, 2004).

Government Structure

The Italian government is a democratic republic and the election of the higher officials depends on the voting system. The multi party system of the country which consist of the parliament and the democratic republic, has been running since the mid of 1964. Before that there was the monarchy which was then abolished by the passing of the memorandum which ensures that the referendum of the constitution of Italy will be regulated onwards.

If we look at the past years, the constitution which the Italia government follows was promulgated on the 1st of January, 1948. The head of the state is known as the president of the country.
