Leisure is time in which you are not working for subsistence, or maintain your home or even resting. Leisure is generally defined by activities. Going out with friends, or watching TV, playing sport, such activities are counted in one's leisure time activities. Males have different activities while women find other activities interesting. Simply, leisure includes those activities which are not part of obligations of work, society or family. These are activities a person does, in order to relax, diversify his brain, and get away from binding duties of life (Kelly, 2000). Today the importance of leisure is getting lost in tension and burden of duties. People are so much involved in their work, due to financial needs, that they have forgotten the importance of leisure activities.

When a person spends time in recreational activities, that time presents a chance to observe personal values, to focus on important aspects of life. It provides you the balance you needed to deal with other areas of life, which are obligatory duties towards family and work.

Spending time for leisure activity provides relief from tension and boredom. It promotes, not only improved emotional health but, physical health, as well.

We tend to get anxious and angry due to stress, spending time in relaxing activities gives a sense of control. Job or school requirements might not provide us that liberty and opportunity.
