Introduction

The main purpose of this paper is to make discussion on the three main characteristics of “Drifting back”, and identify the main ethical theories which can fit best on these characters. The paper is mainly related to the medical ethics. Medical ethics are those moral principles which are used to incorporate the vales and the judgements in the field of medicine. The main practical applications of medical ethics are in the field of clinical settings, sociology, history, theology and philosophy. In the field of medicines, there is not even a single area that does not need ethics in it. The medical ethics are related to the issues related to end of life care, birth control, abortion, patient rights, genetic and organ donation.

Characters and their Ethical Dilemma

Troy

Troy was one of the characters who were going through the major crisis. Troy was getting the treatment along with the life saving machines for the purpose of prolonged death. However, Troy was against this treatment, he wanted his treatment without the life-saving drugs and wanted no prolonged death. His partner Roger was also not allowed to meet him and was unable to stay along side the Troy. Thus, Pete who was the physician of Troy ended his treatment of the life saving machines and allowed Roger to spend nights with Troy. Thus, as a result Troy died.

Pete

The second character of Drifting back to be discussed in this paper is Pete who was the physician of Troy. Pete has removed the life-saving machines of Troy and has allowed is partner to stay nights with him. This act of Pete has resulted in the death of Troy. Therefore, Pete ahs been arrested for murder.
