Introduction

The organizations are restructuring their systems to more product process and customer oriented. The changing trends emerge new concepts of cross functional, lean and virtual organizations (Buenger, 1996). With the change in business scenarios, the concept of management has also transformed to new concepts. This has also changed the organization's structures and work designs. Organizations are facing many challenges that demand efficient management systems. This essay will discuss the solution for the three main challenges to the firm. First part will discuss the internal and external conditions that support the emerging management concept of employee empowerment that result in increase organizational performance. In the second part will suggests the way through which firms can control their false cost projections and delay marketing of a product to maximize the firm's profit. The final part is an effort to design an effective organizational design and management processes that will create the balance between different opposing systems that are favorable for the long term success. Organizations has to made decisions in vary situation that might include certainty or high risk. Managers need to be prepared with the right tools and knowledge to take decisions in all circumstances (Waldron, et.al., n.d.). The organizations with poor design have slow decision making, lack of communication, poor coordination, less innovation and system flexibility and finally reduced productivity.

There are some organizations where top management is the only a decision making authority. Contrast to this approach, the new system encourages pushing decision making authority at the bottom level. The organizations following the traditional system are highly centralized, where advocate of the new system has decentralized structure.

The clearly defined systems strict rules and standardize work processes are conventional traits of traditional systems. In traditional management system, employees are responsible to implement the decisions made at higher organizational level. These structures have characteristics of bureaucracy. There are formalized rules, focus on functional groups and long chain of commands. In the era of globalization, large number of organizations is moving towards the concept of empowering their employees to foster innovation and efficient organizational performance.
