1- About the Concert

Concert Surroundings

Symphony Orchestra has been known for playing different various instruments which usually comprises of woodwinds, brass, strings and percussion. This large group has been using different themes and musical concepts in order to attract their audience. They have proper seating arrangement which slightly depend on the players and instruments needed for the music.

Symphony Orchestra stage setup is different from other concerns; usually they have 75 to 90 members and divided into four sections i.e. brass, woodwinds, string section &harps. Largest members are occupied in string section i.e. there are 14 first violins with 12 second violins and lastly 8 double basses and cellos. A stage on which this concert is performed is called Orchestra pit. As far as Special scenery is concern, it was amazed to have such a silent music with Greek mythology scenario in the entire hall (Brazos Valley Symphony Orchestra, 2013).

The thing that surprised was violin member when playing their part. There was no parts written for woodwind or the brass players and in this situation, violin member play their part which is termed as String Orchestra instead of Full Orchestra. For string orchestra, Leroy Anderson's Plink, Plank, Plunk would be hear due to this situation. Furthermore, one will also hear wind instrument as well, when composer do not write themes for violin member.

Audiences that were in the concert were students and all those people having musical backgrounds and also having degree of expertise in the music. Beside this, non-enrolled students and community members are also allowed.
