My First Apartment

Introduction

Apartment is one of the decisions that is inflicted with the same concern and thinking as all the important 'firsts' of life; as in my first day at school, my first soccer match, my first interview, my first job and the likes. First usually denotes that a person lacks experience and may end up taking a wrong step or being fooled. To guard against such consequences of uninformed decision making and to make a sound decision, significant time and efforts are required to be invested.

Likewise, I thought of buying my own apartment and started with listing my concerns to act by them so as to avoid getting hitched into above mentioned consequences. The thought occurred when I checked upon my savings and found out that I have saved enough to invest in an apartment. An apartment is a good investment decision because real estate is most often a good option to invest upon. Its price usually increases in the long run, so weighing out my options carefully I set out to buy my very own apartment.

Choosing an ideal apartment is one of the worst and most hectic tasks but the most exciting part for me as well since I am an idealistic and artistic person with absolute aesthetic sense. Within my budget; that is one of the major indicators in deciding the apartment, I wanted the location, landscape and the environmental factors surrounding my apartment to be attractive if not perfect. These are the factors around which my decision for the apartment would revolve. One of my friends who is a real estate agent helped me out in seeking the apartment matching my priorities and requirements.

I looked for the psychosocial factors in the location as neighborhood, cultural and social aspects, terrorism and religion. These factors are important as they relate directly to the environment of the location and impacts physical and mental health. Physical health can be impacted in a number of ways; from the factory in the neighborhood releasing toxic chemicals into the air or water stream to the disturbing social values of the people living in the locality to the increased rate of crime and terrorism that could directly influence physical as well as mental health, producing most significant impact than any other factor.
