Q NO 1

Usability testing

Usability testing is a study, which is performed to determine whether a suitable man-made object (such as a video conferencing software, the user interface or device) for its intended use. Thus, the test measures the ergonomics facility or system. Check ergonomics focuses on a specific object or small set of objects, while the study of human-computer interaction in general - formulate universal principles (Barnum, 2002).

Tests of usability are to select a group of users of application and ask them to carry out the tasks for which it was designed, while the design team, development and other stakeholders take note of the interaction, particularly for errors and difficulties with which users are located. It is not necessary in the case of a completely finished application and may be a prototype.

Procedure of usability testing

The usability test is conducted in an environment as close as possible to actual use. The user performs the main tasks for which the software was designed. When the evaluation is based on existing software, the test is performed on the commercial version of the product. In the design phase, the test is conducted on a prototype vertical. The observer gives the user instructions that will lead him to perform typical tasks of the software or website.

It is essential not help unless, of course, in case of deadlock. To highlight the problems, it is best to let the user "make do" as he does when he is alone with the software.

The observer notes the errors, misunderstandings, deadlocks, any event that shows a difficulty in using the software. These observations are the subject once the test is completed, a "hot-analysis" with the user to better understand the causes of problems. Original solutions are usually born from these discussions.

In the design phase, the usability test to validate assumptions about the user behavior, e.g. how it navigates through the interface, the information sought or the commands that it uses the more often.

Benefits of usability testing

The test allows the user to observe in a real context of use.

The problems identified are those that users encounter when he uses the software.

Problems are identified objectively by difficulties affecting the user in his task.

Measurements can be performed during the test.

Server name systems

Each computer directly connected to the Internet has at least one IP address specific. However, users do not want to work with numerical addresses such as 194.153.205.26.

Network bridges

The naming g structure that we could use for naming the bridge connections is PC1, PC2, and PC3, and so on. PC1 will act as an adapter which connects the users to the internet. PC2 consist of an adapter with Ethernet network, PC3 consist of HPNA adapter and so on.

End-notes:

We could name the end notes as E1, E2 and so on. E1 is the initial network from where the user will send the information, whereas, E2 is the final destination where the data sent by the user is received and kept secured until it is needed again by the use.
