Abstract

Over time we have seen that the Olympics have become an event of world in which there are few countries that can throw the realization bet let alone saying they can win out with them. Through the holding of the Olympic Games, many of the host nations have experienced an immense amount of growth in their economy. In the end, it could rightfully be said that Olympics have a huge impact on each and every aspect of the host country, whether it be tourism, travelling, economics, along with many other financial benefits.

This is the main reason why every year there are so many countries fighting to host for the Olympic Games, as it gives a huge economical boost to the country, along with its infrastructures. By themselves, the ticket sales for the sporting event represented a fifth of GDP growth. The economies of many countries such as the UK has emerged from recession in the third quarter, even showing the strongest growth in five years, reflecting a rebound at least in part the extra business generated by the Olympics. Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew by 1.0% during the period from July to September after falling 0.4% in April-June, announced Thursday the Office for National Statistics (ONS). The magnitude of this increase can be explained by the exceptional and temporary factors and could therefore mask an underlying trend lower. It is not less than expected and could allow Britain to avoid a decline in GDP over the whole year.
