Introduction

Literature of parenting styles suggest various parenting techniques and styles, while educated parents tend to implement one or all of these, however parents from non-educated background and underdeveloped countries tend to adopt lesser effective styles. Some parents contemplate about the best style for their particular child. There are social, peer, parental and other cognitive influences embedded in these styles. We will try to discuss the effectiveness of certain parenting styles with the help of behaviors of children and other variable factors influencing the nurturing of a child. Furthermore we'll try to assess which parenting style is most effective; in our study we will include authoritative, authoritarian, indulgent and neglectful parenting.

Discussion

Authoritarian parenting usually incorporates a punitive and restrictive style, moreover in this style parents exhorts their children to listen and obey the orders, furthermore they are obliged to respect the efforts of their parents. While in the authoritative parenting style, in this style children are encourages to be independent by their parents, however limits are defined to the behavior of their children. Moreover parents following this style are said to be more nurturing and warm. Whereas another style is about neglectful parenting, parents with this style are usually said to be little or not at all interested with the lives of their children, due to this uninvolved behavior of his/her parents children start to believe that their parent's life is more essential than their own, resulting in incompetency in society. in addition the last parenting style we are going to discuss is indulgent parenting style, such parents behave as the sole authority of their children's life and tend to be over indulgent, however they too place little control on their children.
