In this connection McGrath & Hillier (2002) argues that most of the patients ask for the assistance of nurse in order to get well soon. Although, nurses can serve well, if they follow the standard code and procedures set for any particular services. This study in this regard will attempt to answer several questions in order to assess how easy/difficult is for the nurses to find policies and procedures for any particular practices? Did the registered nurses know where to find the policy? And is the policy based on evidence? In order to answer these questions, RNs performing the identified procedure would be examined to reveal the extent to which nurses follow the identified procedure and why RNs don't follow or deviate from the policies. As there are so many procedures and identifying each and every policy to answer the question would not be feasible that is why pain management has been selected so that the study can set its direction in order to provide concrete argument to answer each and every question, but it is pertinent to describe what pain management is, so that the context of the policy could easily swallowed by senses.
