Raising a Successful Child in a Single Family Home

Introduction

It is really a challenging and painstaking job to be parent and raise an exceptionally successful child. It has been truly said that it takes a village to raise a child but more precisely, the ultimate need of every child is to be raised under the kind guidance and care of both parents. In the current era, the availability of both parents has become a luxury available to few children in USA as the number of single parent households have been consistently increasing in past two decades (Beckert et.al, 2008). According to the report of Population Reference Bureau, that the number of children living with single parents have been elevated to 32 percent by 2010(Yarber & Sharp, 2010). The responsibility of a parent gets doubled when it comes to being a single parent as they have to render the parenting responsibilities in a way ensuring that the trials and triumphs embedded in being raised in a single parent family contribute productively towards the cognitive, physical and emotional development of the child.

Thesis Statement

The single parents can raise successful children by providing children with a heightened parental involvement, strong intimacy and quality parenting.
