Introduction

Advancement of technology and globalization has mainly affected the social, traditional and cultural aspects all over the globe. This has not only affected the individuals, but also affected the organizations. It is also important to understand that there is more impact of the social and cultural aspects on organizations than individuals. The main reason is that, organizations are treated as separate entity with their own personality, identity, culture, environment and society. These organizations depend on the social, social, cultural, political and economic aspects and perceptions associated with the individuals inside and outside organization (Handel, 2003). This is the reason that sociology of organization is the most important concern for most of the sociologists. There are a number of researchers and sociologists who provide different perspectives about the organizational, environment and culture, which constitutes the social aspects of the organization. One of the most important and prominent sociologist is Max Webber who described the bureaucracy and legitimate authority for the understanding the concept of organization and management (Weber, 1924). Frederick Taylor also provides detailed study of the scientific management in the organizations (Taylor, 1911). Handle also analyzed different aspects associated with the understanding of the basic sociology of the environment. Pugh considered measurement in the organizational structure and proper interaction of the changes in organization result in better under understanding of pattern and system of organization (Pugh, 1973).

Thesis Statement

Analysis of different studies provides that all these studies deals with different perspectives associated with the understanding and defining of social patterns of organization and used in different real world organizational structures.

Discussion

To begin with the basic understanding of the social organization, Handel provide basic introduction about the concept of sociology associated with the organizational structure and managements system. According to Handel, there are various social aspects like educational, politics, government, religion and economy, which affect the structure and form of the organization. People are also an aspect of the organizations, which assist in designing, setting and achieving goals. There are set of rules, values, standards and proper framework, which affect the organizations, and all these are the most important elements, which constitute the social environment of the organization. Handel defines organization as the planned group of people with specific goals and individuals participating at one time, with a set of defined rules and fixed structure of authority (Handel, 2003, p.1-2). According to Handel, the major problem in defining an organization is due to the different roles and forms of these organizations. Despite the fact the fact that organizations have well defined set of rules, authority and organizational patterns, there are a number of diversification and derivation occurred in the organizational patterns (Handel, 2003). This results in the complications in the basic organizational patterns and organizational environment. Handel states that these disagreements in the organizational patterns result in the difficulties for understanding the social phenomenon associate with the organization.
