Introduction

The paper intends to present the book review of the 'Complete Green Letters' which is the magnificent creation of Miles Stanford who was renowned for his classic collection on spirituality. The paper attempts to summarize the book briefly to indicate what book is all about. Moreover, the study will also critically analyze the book to understand the strengths and weaknesses of the book. The book was published in 1964. The author has the great contribution in the theological work. The book is basically a compilation of five small books of Stanford wherein all of the five books, the author put forward that the truth can only be found in the epistles of Paul.

The author has radically contributed in mending the lives of Christian through his writings. Hence, this book contains the five volumes on sanctification that published in a single book. The author has the inspirational writing skills which can be observe from his masterpiece work of 'Complete Green Letters' wherein he presented the complete biblical foundations and keys to spiritual growth in Christ. there is no doubt that book is classic which can be observed from the classic flavor of the language used in the book but it contains the remarkable insight and spiritual penetration that attempt to make it refreshingly contemporary.

Summary

The author has highlighted the brief phrase in his book that is 'Not I, but Christ', that happens to reflect the dependency of the Christian life on to the Jesus for everything. According to the author that every one of us is dependent over the Jesus from our spiritual growth, personal well being, and living the practical life. The book is divided into the five main parts which further contain the numbers of chapter. Hence, there are seventy one chapters in the book. The five parts of the book include the principles of spiritual growth, foundations of spiritual growth, the ground of growth, realization of growth, and a guide to spiritual growth. These parts are the basis of spiritual formation through the proper position in the Christ (Stanford, 1983).

The first part of the book discusses the numbers of principles which include the faith, acceptance, consecration, process of discipleship, cultivation, the futility of self life. The first chapter discusses about the faith according to which the spiritual growth can only be attained if the person has the strong faith over Jesus. The author places the great significant on the faith as he said that faith is something which is grounded by the trust and hence considered as the essence to spirituality. However, it depends on the person when he established faith on Jesus as God is never in hurry. God gives time to people and allow them to submit themselves to the Jesus on their own wishes.
