Water Problem in Canada

Introduction

Talking about the water crisis and its future as a basic resource for life almost automatically leads to images of drought and deserts. Canada is a huge country with a relatively small population but got filled with natural resource reserves, forests, snowy mountains, many rivers and large water bodies such as the Great Lakes. It is a country with large animals, strong, with bears and maple, still abundant. Canada got blessed with fresh water reserves which is the transparent god of the 21st century.

The scarcity of this vital fluid force reiterating a call for moderation of consumption by the population in Canada, without whose cooperation the technical efforts undertaken by some organizations would be insufficient.

Only very little water gets used for the consumption of man, because: 90% is seawater and has salt, 2% is ice and is at the poles, and only 1% of all water on the planet is sweet, found in rivers, lakes and groundwater underground. Furthermore, water as found in nature, to be used without risk for human consumption needs to be treated to remove particles and organisms which may be harmful to health. Finally, be distributed through pipes to your house, so you can consume it without any trouble or risk. The important question that arises is whether Canada should save its water reserves for future use or should supply water to other countries?

Looking closer to this picture in a recent research it got found that, in Canada, epic drought creates an alarming stage for its residents that they will be deprive of or will face shortage of water supply in the near future. This city does not have much water supply for its people as because of its growing population. Most of their Great lakes are now started shrinking. The Water reservoirs shows a record low storage of water, comparing it with the whole Canada this problem is now becoming a serious problem for its residents. This problem will create a serious problem and will no longer able to supply water for its thirsty people (Swyngedouw, 2004).

Why this problem occurs? This is due to the transformation of rural areas to urban areas, eliminating forest and other industrials toxics are now creating problems in providing uninterrupted water supply, for this environment managers and water managers should have to take some serious steps so to stop the effect of ...
