Introduction

'The Dreams from my Father' is an autobiography of Obama. The book was published in the year 1995. The themes that have presented in the book include racism, events from the life of Obama, and race relations. In this paper, the autobiography will be compared with the autobiography of Benjamin Franklin, written in the year 1971. The autobiography of Benjamin Franklin has laid the foundation for a life characterized with self authority and self education.

When Barack Obama published his autobiography, "Dreams From My Father," about racial identity in 1995, he talked with his neighborhood newspaper in Illinois, the Hyde Park Citizen, about the economic disparities he had seen while exploring the world as a child and young adult. The thing that is similar in both autobiographies is that both authors have shared their life stories and followed a particular theme throughout the book. For instance, the theme of the autobiography of Obama is racism and related issues with African American. Another similarity between the writings of both authors is that they have lived their life on the rules set by them. Their rules and perceptions helped them in achieving success in all walks of life.

On the other side, The differences between the writings of two authors are largely because of the differences in the time periods they lived.
