Delegation

Introduction

Delegation is truly essential to the successful day to day operations of businesses. This fundamental role helps the manager divide the work into smaller tasks that individuals should accept and be answerable for. Delegation comes with accountability of the manager to discover the best candidate to do the work to help him or her out. This role can be frustrating, but with the goals set it can make the job much easier on all who help (Bateman, 2004).

The first step in the delegation process is outlining or plans the goals of what needs to be achieved. This role of delegation is preferably to choose the best candidate to support with the assigned task or goal. With the best person who is capable to undergo the task at hand, this should leave little concern to the manager. Even though the manager needs to be prepared to give the person the power and self-assurance to do what needs to be done (Bateman, 2007). This gives a basic outline of having goals set.
