Introduction

Hunger Games is the book which demonstrates a storyline which consist of 12 districts. Two representatives including one boy and one girl are selected from each district to play a game. These 24 representatives are required to fight and eliminate each other for the game to gain victory in the contest. The main focus in this book is on the representatives of Panem, a 16 year old girl named Katniss Everdeen. This girl was young in age and had almost no experience about this game, whereas her competitors were far more experienced than her. Katniss fought and lead her way to victory (Collins, pp. 5). The main idea of the Hunter Games revolves around how people fight to overcome the problems they face regardless of age and experience.

Thesis Statement

“People, no matter how big or small, can overcome any problem they put their mind to.”

Discussion

As the introduction implies, Hunger Games emphasizes on the character of a 16 year old girl along with the male representative of Panem name Peeta Mellark. These were the representatives who were selected from the district of Panem to compete in the Hunger Game against more experienced and skilled competitors. This girl, Katniss was also trained to compete against her competitors and she worked hard to learn the techniques that were important to be used during the competition. An old saying for people who want to fight says. “Train hard and fight easy” (Whiting, 42).

According to this saying, it is very important for a fighter to at each stage of his training to know what he is doing and how the training will benefit him.
