Little Red Riding Hood

Introduction

The story of Little Red Riding Hood can be traced back to oral traditions of different regions of Europe. We know that the tale was told as early as the fourteenth century in France. "The False Grandmother" is the title of an Old Italian version of the fairy tale, Little Red Riding Hood where the wolf is able to defeat based only on his wits. Some argue that this version is closer to the original, and that the character of the woodcutter was added later to suggest the idea of male- grandmother and granddaughter that could not be saved without the help of a man. In any case, the oldest written version of the tale is Le Petit Chaperon Rouge, appeared in the collection of fairy tales of mother goose by Charles Perrault in 1697. Perrault's version is more sinister than the next (and best known) of Grimm. In this version of Little Red Riding Hood is "an attractive girl from a good family" who ends up eaten by the wolf with his grandmother, with no happy ending. Little Red Riding Hood fairy tale is a European most popular in the world, of which there are many variants has been transcribed, among others, by Charles Perrault (with the title Le Petit Chaperon Rouge) and the brothers Grimm. Although generally considered suitable to be told to children, not too contains hidden references to issues such as violence and cannibalism (in some versions of the tale, in fact, unbeknownst to her Little Red Riding Hood eats the flesh of her grandmother). The story centres on the contrast between the bright world safe from the village and the dark and treacherous forest, a contrast typically medieval (Orenstein, pp. 112).

One day her mother told her to bring a basket of muffins to her grandmother who lived beyond the woods several times and I recommend being careful and do not stop to talk to anyone because it was very dangerous. Little Red Riding Hood left the house with the basket in hand, and singing and jumping continued into the woods. After a few minutes' walk away, when the trees became more dense and the light was struggling to get space between the branches, Little Red Riding Hood saw a shadow, thought it was another tree, but it was a scary wolf, who interrupted his journey and asked her where she was going, the little that was said by his grandmother, the wolf pressed and proposing a race, the child, without hearing the words of her mother, decided to accept and walked (Orenstein, pp. 126).

The Wolf chose the shortest route and arrived first at Grandma's house, and doing the voice as if it were his granddaughter became open, went in and ate it in one gulp. Then he ...
