My Early Adulthood Experiences

Introduction

As I am a 21 years old female, my development period is early adulthood. I am from Haiti and most of my family still lives there. I am planning to visit them this summer. I am a single working mother of two beautiful kids. My daughter is four years old and my son is two years old. Being a single parent is hard work. I try hard to spend as much time as possible with my children. I have been working for two years in a company and still waiting to get promoted. I have been depressed and under a lot of stress lately because of bad breakup. He took everything from my house. Another depressing event also added to my worries a few weeks ago. There was a robbery at my store, the robber took away a lot of money but fortunately he was caught. The police told us that the guy had a loaded gun and we are very lucky that he didn't use the gun or else anyone of us could have been injured or worse. Due to these recent events I have been seeing a counselor. I have been having some problems lately but still hope for a positive change in my life.

She helped me through my pregnancy stages and the changing patterns of my body. I also read a lot of guide books and articles about pregnancy. As I got more knowledge and awareness about the changing which will and are happening in my body, the whole experience became less terrifying and gradually I became excited for the arrival of my baby.

My second pregnancy was easier because I already knew what to expect. My children are the pride and joy of my life. They are my strengths through the difficult times. During my pregnancies, I dealt with the changing hormones and stress, in my first four or five months. However, the rest of my pregnancy journey went smoothly because of the help of my doctor and friends. After my pregnancies I experienced depression and loneliness, as I am a single parent. My partner did help a little with taking care of the children but I had to deal with the stress and hormones on my own. I was exhausted and under stress the whole ...
