Troy Davis Background

The eldest son of Joseph Davis who was a Korean War veteran along with Virginia Davis who used to be a hospital worker was Troy Davis. Troy's parents got divorced when he was a young child. Davis grew with his four other siblings in the black, middle class area of Georgia in Cloverdale Savannah.

Troy Davis went to Windsor Forest School, where one of the teachers identified him as a poor student. Troy left his school in the junior year so that he could take his disabled sister to the rehabilitation centre. From Richard Arnold Education Center Troy received a diploma degree that is equivalent to high school in the year 1987. One of the teachers in the Educational Centre noted that thought Troy attended his school regularly even then he seemed to lack obedience. In those days, the nick given to Davis was “Rah” that means “Rough as Hell”. However, on the other hand, some of the neighbors were of the opinion that the nickname did not reflect his behavior; they explain that he was just like a "straight-up man" and he always acted like a big brother to all the local children.

In the year 1988 in July, Davis was pleaded guilty as he was carrying a hidden weapon. Troy was charged a fine of 250 dollars and as part of appeal accord where an accusation of custody of a weapon with misrepresented sequential numbers was dropped.

In the year 1988 in August, Troy began to work as a drilling technician at a factory who made gates of railroad crossing. Davis's boss on one occasion commented that although Troy was likeable as well as a good employee having positive goals in life, even then his attendance at job was poor. It was by Christmas in the year 1988 that Davis had stopped attending work. Later Troy came again to the plant two times in the subsequent months however, neither of the time he remained for a long time. Troy Davis also worked in Savannah Police as a coach in the Athletic League and he also signed up for providing his service in Marine Corps of the United States of America (www.troyanthonydavis.org).
