There is a general view about nursing manager and nursing leader that both are similar in nature and these terms can be used in place of each other. On the other hand, in reality there is some difference involved in both the terms. A leader of nursing can be a successful manager, but it is not compulsory that a manager of nursing can be a good leader. The managers are considered to do their assigned duties, tasks and project along with managing their staffs that are under their chain of command. It includes delegating his duties to his subordinates. The task of leader of nurse is very different. The leader has the responsibility related to somewhat motivating his followers more willingly than just pursuing the simple provided framework. A leader of nurse is born, he motivates, delegates responsibility and droves his followers (Bach, 2011). 

Typical leader of nurse possess a power over interpersonal skills and he has effectual communication skills. They are ready to take risks and they make efforts to attain their desired objectives. They do not compromise on less than providence. A leader of nurse is sincere, efficient, active and very honest with his job and subordinates that he devotes his complete life for the achievement of his ambitions. A leader of nurse is the role model for his followers therefore, sometimes he is loaded with so many responsibilities but these responsibilities are related to the achievement of his goals in his individual life (Douglass, 1996).

A leader of nurses is in actual the practicing nurse who is actually responsible for motivating and encouraging members of his team to obtain the mission and vision of their healthcare institute successfully in a well managed manner. There can be a formal direction, which is officially approved by the institute of healthcare or there can be informal direction. An efficient leader is the basis of reforming the staff and owned resources. The duties of nurse leader may include the scheming and execution of newly formulated strategy and practices, with the demand of the new health related and institutional strategies that government or the authority institute force. The role of nurse leader is an important role in emergency department and hospitals as the kind of pressure and delicacy involved in the treatment of the patient and their connection is very high (Mackoff, 2011).
