The 10 commandments

Introduction

The study is related to the “Ten Commandments”. The basic values ??of the Ten Commandments were first planted by God in every human form of the natural moral law in the heart. These core values ??are evident, but also by natural reason. In this way, so these values ??are already out of the natural moral law. This is also confirmed by the fact that these values ??were well known among all peoples and all times.

The Ten Commandments are, however, mainly due to a special revelation of God. God had spoken to Moses on Mount Sinai, the fundamental laws and commandments for the people of Israel, which also includes the Ten Commandments. After the people of Israel the Ten “10” Commandments were handed down to us Christians (Sebastian, Pp. 24-38).

Discussion

The unique importance of the Ten Commandments is fully aware of us only when we ask ourselves to what values ??are these commandments. In the Ten Commandments, the religious and moral values ??are represented:

1) Belief in God

2) The fear of God

3) The worship of God

4) The family

5) Life

6) Love and Marriage

7) The property

8) The Truth

9) The fidelity

10) The social peace

These core values ??are the pillars of religion and morality. Without faith, reverence and worship to God there is no religion. Without the protection of family and life, love and marriage, property and the truth, fidelity and social stability in the long run there is no life for the individual and the community (Rooker, 12-34). There has as yet no nation in history that has given impunity in the long run these core values. In most cases the disregard of these fundamental values ??of the real reason for the demise of individual nations (William, 19-23).

The “ten” 10 Commandments according to the Catholic Catechism:

I am the Lord thy God: Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

Do not take the name of God in vain.

Remember the Sabbath Day.

Honor your father and mother.

Do not kill.

Do not commit adultery.

Do not steal.

Do not bear false witness.

You shall not covet your neighbor's wife.

You shall not covet your neighbor's goods.

Depth Analysis

The first of the Ten (10) Commandments is substantially the same, even if in reduced form.

The second of ten (10) commandments dictated by God is missing (it was canceled? Repealed?), as one can see, but after investigating further, step by step, commenting: “Do not be sculpture, or any likeness of things that are up there in heaven or on earth beneath or in the waters under the earth”. Seems clear enough, but now the important part is” Do not bow down thyself to them nor serve them, “so I cannot kneel before a statue, nor a painting, in fact, the message might be that God is everywhere (he was given the ubiquity), and that prayer is enough to reach it, no need to contact the immaginina or a statue of a saint. “because I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and ...
