Different practitioners and advocates of the model of farm-to-table greatly displayed their motivation towards local ingredients, and fresh meals. They also provoked against the poor nutritional shipped ingredients, poor flavor of shipped products, the removal of small family farms, and the problems of food distribution system. The key principle of the movement was to promote the habits of healthy eating and concentrate on the local farming that pay low impact on the environment, by not creating pollution through transportation and longs distance.
