Introduction

Workplace diversity refers to a set of people who brings the set of differences and similarities with them in the organization. It includes the dimensions beyond those which are specified legally in equal opportunity. Diversity influences the traits which people from different cultures and statuses brings, such as perceptions, education, religion, geographical locations and parental status.

Advantages Of Workforce Diversity

Businesses have recognized the need of intense diversity and inclusion of talent in their company to give a competitive pressure to the industry. The companies want to promote diversification so as to maintain an empowered environment and to accelerate their corporate performance. Companies have to interact with different cultures and clients, for this reason also, they have to retain certain individuals who are presentable and who understand the demographic changes the clients possess (Thomas, 1997). The businesses who does not value the diversification, might find it difficult to retain the customers, employees, and business partners.

The company wants to identify and learn from the companies and employees who are successful in managing and nurturing the diversity, their productivity is on an increasing graph, and their turnover rate is low (Thomas, 1997). The purpose of diversification, that is to achieve the competitive advantage, improve the customer service and to power the service of globalization. I have analyze some companies, who are maintaining the diversity productively at their workplaces (Thomas, 1997).

Dell, Inc. is healthy, competitive and has a rich diversity in its workforce. The employees are motivated, and the diversification affects their productivity in a positive way (i.dell.com, Pp. 11-23, 2010).
