Mayan civilization is considered by many to be an underdeveloped civilization. The civilization thrived from 200 to 900 CE. It died out after the arrival of Spanish around the early 16th century. Their list of achievements are as follows:

The Maya built a lot of pyramids and tall temples. This is surprising as they were very isolated from other pyramid building civilizations.

They even knew how to make rubber in the 1500's!
