In this study we try to explore the concept of “affordable housing” in a holistic context. The main focus of the research is on “affordability” and its relation with “housing”. The research also analyzes many aspects of “affordable housing” and tries to gauge its effect on “the buyers”. Finally the research describes various factors which are responsible for “affordable housing” and tries to describe the overall effect of “affordable housing” on “the buyers”.

Definition of affordable housing applied in other countries show some consistent characteristics. Directed to the right households, based on local incomes and housing prices and provide mechanisms to maintain affordable housing in perpetuity or for the Delimitation and disposal of investments (capital gains with proportional) to the new position.
