Introduction

This incorporate study will focus on finding whether there is clear distinction between age discrimination, diversity management, affirmative action and equal employment or not. The term diversity is derived from management which is a concept that refers to the difference, variety, the abundance of different things or dissimilarity. For example: "The Buenos Aires Zoo has a wide variety of animal species," "The variety of dishes to choose from in this restaurant is impressive," I want a wider variety of shirts to choose the appropriate one for every occasion” diversity management is about managing the difference within the company's workforce, minimizing workplace challenges and capitalizing on the benefits of diversity (Alderfer, 2003).

The main objective of diversity management is to produce diversity dividend which include: Fostering superior decision making, improving efficiency of HRM functions, creativity, innovation and problem solving. Culturally complex environments are facilitated by developing cross-cultural and creation of knowledge companies. Effective diversity management is achieved by developing new marketing/sales strategies for diverse consumer and implementing new service/product for them (Alderfer, 2003).

Organizational and individual performance is achieved by effective diversity management, which is because of the powerful effects are decision making, creativity, innovation and problem solving. A compensatory benefit does not depend upon how the diverse the workforce is. A company to have good diversity it must manage its diversity. Companies should effectively manage diversity in order to have special prospective, skills and knowledge of their workforce and these are the different factors for generating diversity dividend. However diversity is when a person is differentiated from the other for Example: ethnicity, age, gender, education, race and sexual orientation. In addition for managing diversity involves creating an environment that allows employees to add something to experience personal growth and organizational goals (Alex, 2011).

This environment includes positive and fair treatment of all employees as well as access to jobs. The company should enlarge employees who are at ease with others people while working who belongs to different racial, religious and ethnic backgrounds. Companies' culture might also get changed when it comes to managing diversity. It consists of norms, standards of organization, competiveness, risk taking, result orientation and how employees are treated (Alex, 2011).

In today's diversifying and rapidly changing world those organization will lead who will create a steady and stable stream of innovative service and goods, earning loyalty and winning customers by giving exceptional performance. An individual does not have all the capabilities, talent and skills that are needed to perform this job. Diversity goes for those individuals who have different experience rather than those who look different. As diversity has provided many advantages to business organization this is the reason why many other organizations have also implemented diversity programs.

However diversity at workplace faces many challenges and barriers. It is not easy to manage diversity and undertaking diversity initiative can go wrong and can give many disadvantages to the organization if it is not managed ...
