Introduction

There are various organizations all over the world striving to achieve their specific objectives. Some are striving for reforms in politics, some for freedom struggle and some fighting for their rights in the world (Combs and Slann, 2007). These organizations use different ways to achieve their specific objectives like use of force, media and other sources.

AL-Aqsa Martyrs brigade is an organization affiliated with Palestine. This is an organization, which is working for the liberation of Palestine (West Bank, Gaza and Many Other Places) from the control of Israel. This organization has several cells of Fatah Group activist working in it. This organization came into light during Al-Aqsa Intifada or the second Palestinian uprising in September 2000. The main goal of the Al-Aqsa brigade is to drive out the Israeli illegal settlers and military out of the State of Palestine. Thus when it is done it will setup a state based on the principal of secular ideology.

This organization is one of the forty-nine organizations to have been banned the United States of America (Heupel, 2007). This organization was banned in the year 2002 by USA after the deadly bombing in Israel. Japan, Israel and Canada are the other countries who consider this organization to be a terrorist organization in the world.

About the Organization

This Brigade was founded in the year 2000 after the second Palestinian uprising. It is linked to the west bank militias who have their traces to the Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat. This organization is a part of Al-Fatah Party who consider it to be there militant wing.

Al-Aqsa brigade consist of several autonomous and localized units who work independently of each other. They are united under the umbrella of Fatah and thus it is there alliance point. Since the power structure is very much decentralized and no clear leader exists for the wing, thus it is very hard to take action against this organization or its leader (Dudai, Stein, Bonn and Shulman, 2002). There are several controversies as to who initially headed the organization. According to Israel, it was initially headed by Yasser Arafat but this is clearly denied by the members of AL-Fatah. There were various other leaders of this organization some of them are like Mawan Barghouti (he is presently serving 5 years prison in the Israel). The other leader was Naif Abu-Sharah who was a local commander in Nablus and was killed by the Israeli Military in 2004. Fadi Kafisha is also one of the head of this organization in Nablus. The other well-known leader was Zakaria Zubeidi who was a local commander in the area of Jenin.
