As a latest alter to Islam, I can only envisage what it would seem like to stand in the Great Mosque in Mecca with the hundreds of thousands of other pilgrims. Wolfe had this opening, but regrettably, he did not adequately articulate his religious/spiritual effects in the book. His composing method was a bit too target and detached.
