Review of Literature

Since the founding of the United States, there have been disputes between the Northern and the Southern states. Main trigger was the difference in opinion on the question of slavery. While the slave owners in the southern states argued that slavery was the basis of wealth, economic growth and peace, and legitimized by the right of possession, people in the Northern states believed that slavery was incompatible with the founding ideals of the Republic.

Causes of Civil War

This difference in the economies and operation within the same country resulted in division in United States. The North strongly opposes the slavery where south believed that slayer is a good way of having workers to do the work without any payment. There was a difference in the opinion whether the whole nation is with or without slavery. This resulted in a fight by the whole nation over the slavery. This was the outbreak of Civil war.

Another contributing reason in the outbreak of war was the settlement of new territories. The North was in favor of new free territories while the South wanted to prevent the slaves from escaping into the vacant territories. The citizen of both sides wanted free voting and right of taking the decision whether they wanted to be free or slave. Many states wanted to have a right of making their laws. They did not support the idea of giving this right to Federal government. There was a difference of opinion found in the North and South part of America.
