Introduction

This paper will try to highlight two arguments that are given in the articles “Torture justifiable in some cases” written by Mirko Bagaric and "Want to Torture, Get a Warrant" written by Alan M. Dershowitz. Both the articles have brought the spotlight on one of the critical issues existent in the society that is torture. The articles have presented fallacies related to their stance in relation to torture. In order to understand torture, we first must need to understand that what torture is? Understanding of torture will help us better in clearly grasping the arguments given by the authors in the articles.

Discussion

Torture is a devastating technique which is used as mean to overcome the victims under pressure to get the desired results. The notion of torture hampers a person; thus, the individual deliberately deprived of his inherent uniqueness and its characteristics. It (torture) is the most prominent tool, because the most striking aspects of the acculturation that may occur during the process. It is the instrument of denial, the annihilation of any (cultural, personal) right. Torture is, therefore, a process of dehumanization. What it aims is to destroy is the victims' sense of belonging. It is an aggression against the dignity and physical integrity, psychological and social conditions of individuals in order to exclude them from the human community.

Fallacies are flaws that fade logic and arguments. By discovering to search for fallacies in others' and own writing, an individual can fortify capability to assess the arguments made, read, and heard.
