Introduction

The main purpose of this paper will be to identify the role of the forensic therapy in the applied social psychology. Since the last few decades, there is a great role of the forensic therapy on the psychological practices. The different institutions mainly the American Psychological Association have identified the role of forensic therapy in psychology. Thus, this paper will present the literature review on the forensic therapy and its role in the applied social psychology.

Aims and Rationale of Research

The main aim of this research will be to identify the role of the forensic therapy in applied social psychology. However, this research is very important for the field of applied social psychology because it is helpful in providing the basic concept of the applied social psychology. This research will also be helpful in understanding the meaning of forensic therapy and the different contributions of forensic therapists. Thus, this research will be very significant in the field of forensic therapy because it is helpful in understanding the ways through which the forensic therapy is helpful in the applied social psychology.

Literature Review

Applied social psychology is mainly based on the research which emphasizes on some specific problem. The applied social psychology is done on the real basis. It is mainly based on the ways through which an event occurs. The applied social psychology is focused on obtaining the theoretical and practical knowledge which is required for the purpose of identifying different factors in the problem solution. Applied social psychology is mainly based on the ways through which the concepts, methods and psychological outcomes can be utilized for the purpose of bringing improvements in the people's lives. According to (Anselmi, 2004), it is basically the representation of the passages between the reality and psychological theories for the purpose of bringing improvements in society and individuals (Anselmi, 2004). Thus, it can be said that it is basically focused on providing a response to the people's need and their distinct domains.

On the other hand, the Forensic psychology is considered to be an experimental science which is helpful in providing support and assistance to the judges. The main aim of forensic psychology is to assist in the judicial process principles, instruments and different techniques which are used for the purpose of allowing the psychological assessment of human behavior. These techniques are helpful in providing the assistance to judges for sentencing in a more consistent manner. According to the literature presented by (Beydoun, 2005) the forensic psychologist perform the functions of an expert consultant and helps in the legal proceedings of the issues which are clinical and diagnostic in nature.
